ANM meteorologists announce a heatwave on Tuesday, with temperatures expected to reach 39 degrees in the southern regions. The wave of heat will gradually continue to expand and intensify throughout the country, reports News.ro.
A yellow code weather warning was issued for Tuesday, July 9.
"The wave of heat will continue to expand and intensify in Crişana, Banat, Oltenia, Muntenia, continental Dobrogea, locally in Moldova and Maramureş, as well as in south-western Transylvania, where there will be a heatwave and high thermal discomfort. The maximum temperatures will be 35...37 degrees and locally 38...39 degrees in the southern regions, while the temperature-humidity index (ITU) will exceed the critical threshold of 80 units on large areas. Locally, the minimums will not drop below 20 degrees characterizing a tropical night", ANM specifies.
